Midway went into this match looking for their third win on the trot. Midway started with the last two man of the match winners in defence - Jake Raynor and Dion Griffin. Both lads kept everything simple at the back and their timely tackles and clearances into the channels kept Midway having the forward momentum for most of the first half. As usual Midway started the game the faster and put TS under pressure with several attacks resulting in Sam "Beckham" Wright being able to take his quality corners. After around 5 minutes into the game Midway won a throw in by the corner flag and Sam Wright launched it into the area where the defender for TS being challenged by Kieran and Thomas was unlucky to see the ball bounce off her into the back of the net 1-0. Midway continued their dominance and the second goal soon came with Sam Wright whipping in another quality corner which fortunately hit Thomas on the chest and bounced up for him to blast into the roof of the net on the volley from close range 2-0. Midway seemed to grow more confident now and got a few passing moves flowing with Sam, Leighton and Kieran at the heart of them. Midway's third goal came just before half time with a passing move from defence that saw nearly everyplayer touch it before Leighton made the killer pass into the left channel for Captain Kieran Saunders to run in from the left wing and lash into the far bottom corner from outside the area - A great finish to a great team goal. Half Time 3-0!!
Midway went out for the second half with Dominic Jurgens coming on for Leighton Smith into midfield and continued to push for goal. Midway made more changes soon after with Leighton going in goal allowing Jack another run out on his favored left wing. Ewan Forryan came on for Thomas Wood up front and Kain Squires came on for Sam Wright with captain Kieran making way for Jack coming outfield. Midway went 4 up when a Dom Jurgens corner from the right wing was put into the danger area and another unfortunate TS defender turned the ball into their own net.
TS now though took more control of the game for the last 10 minutes (with about 6 minutes injury time?), TS scored their first goal with an absolute pile driver from their left footed attacker, he took the ball from the half way line and then from about 15 yards smashed it into the top corner, Leighton made a great effort to save it but the power took it through his fingers and into the net - Great solo goal. TS then got their second in the last 2 minutes with a good team goal passed through midfield and blasted in the bottom corner very similar to Kieran's goal in the first half. Midway now scrapped for the final seconds to stop TS making any real comeback and ended up winning comfortably overall. Much better display this week boys with great football being played. Well Done!!!
