Midway 3 Belvedere Park Juniors FC Blue 8

Midway unlucky as pre match chaos with no kit till 5 mins before kick off and no Goalie distract the boys focus.

By no means was this as one sided as it sounds and with any one of Midway's usual Goalkeepers playing, allowing the outfield players to focus on their usual job, we would have been looking at a totally different result.

Belvedere went ahead very early on but Midway responded via a trademark long distance blast from Jake! A free kick awarded from not too far inside the opposition half after a foul on Thomas was lashed into the TOP CORNER by Jake's sweet left boot! After this Midway lost heart slightly going into half time 4-1 down due to Charlie being injured and not being involved in defence meaning Midway playing with 6 players.

The second half again conceded 4 goals that with the usual defenders being in defence and not in goal would have probably stopped the ball before it got there! Unlucky boys but loads of effort put in. Midway did get the ball in the net twice in the second half Thomas controlled their goal kick for the first beat the defender and whacked past the goalie and the second was a team goal with Charlie putting in a strong tackle to win the ball then crossed and every Midway player got involved in a scramble before Thomas finally toe poked it in at the post!

Special mention for Callum and Lewis for giving it a go in goal and Bradley for his non stop running.

Despite having no sponsor the club have ordered a new kit for the team to stop the messing about we currently have to do.

This should be here shortly, maybe not in time for the next game but certainly the one after.
